Madonna des heiligen Hieronymus

Amerikanische Malerei 1720–1765, 1764/1766

The artwork "Madonna of Saint Jerome" depicts several figures in a biblical scene. In the center, a seated woman with dark hair, partially covered by a blue hood, holds a child on her lap. The child is unclothed and reaches out towards a kneeling woman in the foreground who is dressed in a yellow and white garment. To the left, an elderly bearded man stands holding a scroll, draped in a red and blue robe, with a lion nearby. An angelic figure with wings, dressed in golden robes, is positioned behind the central woman. The background features a landscape with hills and trees, and a red drapery is visible above the figures.
