Skizzen für eine Schriftrolle

Charles Sprague Pearce, 1890/1897

The image shows a series of linear scroll-like shapes running horizontally across a tan background. The abstract rendering includes lines tapering into spirals or curls at the ends. Some shapes are detailed with textured lines suggesting layers and creases, similar to a rolled-up paper partially unfurled. The forms are repeated in various sizes throughout the image, creating a sense of layered repetition.
