Athena Pouring a Drink for Hercules

Französische Grafik 1775–1780, 1775/80

This is a drawing of two figures interacting in an ancient or classical style. The image depicts two individuals, one standing on the left holding a cup and the other on the right pouring liquid from a jug into the cup. The figure on the left is dressed in a simple garment, tied around the waist, and appears barefoot, leaning slightly with interest toward the pouring jug. The figure on the right wears a more elaborate, patterned robe with ornate detailing and holds a long staff. The drawing is executed in fine lines on a textured paper.
