Building with Washing

Amerikanische Grafik 1902–1916, 1908

The image shows a view of a path or road leading towards a large building by a waterway. The low horizon is obscured by buildings, with a sky filled with soft pastel hues. The buildings on the right have colorful facades and there are clothes hanging on a line outside. In the distance to the left, there is a low bridge spanning across the water to another building. The brushstrokes are loose and expressive, especially in the water. The color palette includes earthy browns, rusty reds, soft pinks, and pale blues.
