Turkey Buzzard

Audubon: Die Vögel Amerikas II, 1832

This painting features two turkey vultures perched on a branch. The detailed birds are depicted with realistic plumage, one standing above the other on textured tree branches. The upper vulture has dark brown feathers and a red head while the lower vulture's wings display a gradient from deep chestnut to lighter brown. The branches are textured with rugged bark, creating a natural setting. The style is reminiscent of John James Audubon's detailed bird illustrations.
