Saint Bridget

Deutsche Grafik 1470–1480, c. 1480/1500

The image shows a person seated at a desk, facing slightly to the right, with their head turned towards a book on the desk. They have a serene facial expression, with a halo behind their head. The person has a stylized hairstyle partially covered by a veil, wearing robed clothing with a cloak and tunic. Their hand is over the open book, surrounded by religious symbols, including a cross on the desk. Next to them, a hat and a circular item hang from a stick. In the background, two figures with halos float on a cloud, observing the seated person. The illustration has an intricate woodcut style with colored highlights in red, green, and yellow tones.
