Amerikanische Malerei 1840–1848, 1845

The image shows a child standing with both hands in front. The child has a full face, large, round eyes, and fair, short, curly hair. They are wearing a dress with blue and orange stripes and small floral patterns, white pants, and black shoes. The child holds a thin stick in one hand and a wide-brimmed straw hat with a blue bow in the other. A small black dog stands at the child's left side, appearing to sniff a leafy branch. The background features soft green hills, scattered trees, and a light sky.
