Capture of the "Savannah" by the "U.S.S. Perry"

Amerikanische Malerei 1858–1865, 1861

The image shows a maritime scene with two sailing ships on rolling ocean waves. The horizon line is placed high, near the sails of the ships. The brushstrokes are smooth, capturing detailed rigging and sea texture. The color palette includes blues, greens, whites, and light tan. One ship, a schooner, has a large flag, while the other ship is in the distance with fewer details.
