A Ruined Castle on a Lake

Britische Grafik 1870–1881, 1881

The image shows a pastoral view with a castle ruin near the center, slightly to the left. The horizon blends into misty mountains in the background. The painting uses gentle, textured brushstrokes to create a soft, dreamy quality. The color palette consists of muted earth tones, soft greens, warm yellows, dusty roses, and muted blues. Nearby, two figures are attending to a small boat on a rocky shoreline. Trees near the ruins have delicate foliage.
