Elihu Vedder, 1913

The image shows a narrow path between two walls leading towards a distant rocky landscape. The horizon is visible near the upper third of the image against a textured sky. The brushstrokes resemble pastel work with soft, smudged lines defining the path, walls, and scenery. The walls guide the eye towards a rocky cliff in the center, with greenery on the left wall. The color palette includes soft browns, grays, blues, and muted tones to create a serene atmosphere.
