Betrayal

Deutsche Grafik 1490–1498, c. 1490

The artwork depicts a group of five men surrounding a central figure. The central figure is standing and has a halo. He has long dark hair and a beard, wearing a long robe. To his right, a man with long hair and a beard is leaning in closely, holding his arm. On the left, a man in a blue helmet and red tunic holds the central figure's arm, with a sword visible at his side. Another man with a halo stands behind with a concerned expression, holding a sword. At the bottom, a man in a yellowish outfit is crouched down, looking downward. The background features a blue sky and green terrain, with minimal details. The style is reminiscent of medieval artwork, with bold outlines and flat areas of color.
