Si annusa la merce… prima di meccanizzarla!…

Honoré Daumier, 1839

Two individuals are depicted in a black and white illustration. The person on the left appears focused, leaning forward with tousled hair and pronounced facial features. They wear a loose shirt with rolled-up sleeves. The individual on the right, partially obscured by a cloth, has a furrowed expression. They are surrounded by food items on a table, including a pie and a wheel of cheese. The background shows hanging goods, suggesting a market or shop setting.
