Geese in Flight

Amerikanische Malerei 1849–1850, 1850 o later

The artwork "Geese in Flight" presents a detailed landscape from a slightly elevated viewpoint. The horizon is placed high, with a line of geese flying diagonally across the sky. The color palette features pastel shades of blue, pink, and green. Closest to us, a train moves along a track at the bottom of the image, with its smoke billowing upwards. Beyond, there's a grand house with a carriage and horse nearby, surrounded by fences and trees with vibrant foliage. In the distance, a body of water hosts a steamboat and several sailing ships. To the right, a forested area with a path and a bridge adds depth, while a mountain range rises in the background. The brushstrokes are smooth and detailed, contributing to the folk art style of the piece.
