Discura longicauda (Racket-Tail)

John Gould,

This is a painting of three hummingbirds perched and flying around flowering plants. The painting depicts two flying hummingbirds with vibrant green throats and long tails ending in dark, rounded feathers, alongside a third hummingbird perched calmly on the plant. The plants feature slender, elongated leaves and vivid pink flowers with long petals extending upwards. This is in style of John Gould. The background is softly washed in a light blue. The scene captures the elegance and agility of the hummingbirds amidst their natural habitat.
