Elihu Vedder, 1914

The image shows an artwork of stone steps in a Mediterranean landscape. The steps lead upwards to the right, with a stone wall on the left. A large clay urn is on the left side, with a smaller urn further up the steps. In the background, a classical-style building with tall, narrow windows is partially visible behind a tree. The painting has delicate brushstrokes and a color palette of earthy tones and muted grays, with a vibrant hint of color at the bottom right corner.
