Mary Cassatt
1844–1926, United States, Impressionism
The American painter Cassatt lived in Paris and was invited by Degas to exhibit with the Impressionists. She mainly painted women and children in everyday life – without sentimentality, with bold cropping inspired by Japanese woodblock prints.
