The Artist's Paint Box and Moss Roses

Édouard Vuillard, 1898

This painting shows a brown jug filled with pink roses and green leaves on a brown surface that looks like a suitcase on its side. To the right of the jug are some stacked books, which are a light green color. The background is a light blue paneled wall or door, and there appear to be some open boxes behind the suitcase on the right side. The brushstrokes are thick and visible.
